Sideboards
A sideboard is a long low cabinet, usually 30 to 36 inches high and 18 to 20 inches deep, made to sit against a wall in a dining room or hallway. Height matters because the top is a working surface: too low and serving from it means stooping.
Length is chosen against the wall rather than the room, and art or a mirror above should run about two thirds the width of the piece. Every sideboard is made to order.
