Frequently asked questions
The questions we are asked most, answered plainly.
How long until it arrives?
Each piece is made to order. Handling is 10–15 business days before dispatch, then transit from our partner workshop in Vietnam typically takes 14–21 business days. Both are good-faith estimates, not guarantees. Free shipping on eligible U.S. orders. Self-service checkout is available for the 48 contiguous states and Washington, DC. We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, other U.S. territories, APO/FPO addresses or PO boxes. Delivery method varies by item.
Where is it made and shipped from?
Each piece is made to order in Vietnam and shipped directly to your address. We pay any U.S. import duties and customs fees, so there is nothing to pay when it arrives.
Can I get a size that is not listed?
Yes. The published sizes are starting points. Send us three dimensions and the finish you want at support@rootelier.com and we will quote it.
Is it really solid wood?
Yes. Our furniture is made from solid wood.
Oak or walnut?
On our pieces these are finish tones rather than different timbers. The finish is applied to the same solid stock, so the tone changes and the material does not. Where a piece is offered in more than one finish they are all the same price, so the choice is about how the piece reads in your room rather than what it costs.
Oak reads lighter and walnut reads darker. In a room that is already busy, the darker finishes sit quieter. If your question is about the timber species themselves, how they differ in hardness and how each one ages is covered in the wood species guide.
The finish marks. Is that a fault?
No, and we would rather you knew before buying. A wet glass left overnight can leave a pale ring on a wood surface. Email us with a photograph and we will tell you the right way to treat it for your piece.
The wood has moved since it arrived.
Solid wood moves with the seasons. A hairline gap that opens in winter and closes in summer is the piece working as designed, not a fault.
Do you have customer reviews?
Not yet. We would rather say that than invent them.
