Bookshelves

Bookshelves in solid wood, from narrow units that run tall to low wide ones. Shelf depth is set by what goes on it. Paperbacks need 5 inches, hardbacks 6 to 7, so a 10 inch shelf holds books with room to spare and a 12 inch shelf is deeper than most libraries need. Height is the better place to spend the space: a narrow unit at seven feet holds more than a wide one at three.

Anything over five feet tall should be anchored to the wall. Every bookshelf is made to order, so width and shelf spacing can follow the wall and the books.
